Baltic Cleantech Forum-2016 was held in Kaliningrad, Russia on 11-12 October 2016

Representatives of BALTIC CLEANTECH ALLIANCE Evija Pudane (CLEANTECH LATVIA) and Marina Poutanen (Finnish Water Forum) participated in the Baltic Cleantech Forum-2016. Main subjects of the Forum were energy efficiency, water treatment and waste management.

During Forum Deputy Mayor of Kaliningrad City Administration Mr Sergey Melnik pointed out the valuable experience of CLEANTECH LATVIA in cluster formation and offered a cooperation.

With Mr Kovalenko, Chief of the Department of Infrastructure and Ecology of the Kaliningrad City Administration was discussed the current challenges of the city water infrastructure and sludge utilization at the recently launched Kaliningrad wastewater treatment plant.

The local non-profit organization “Baltic Project and Consulting Centre” presented possible joint activities with Finnish and Latvian companies in water issues.

Our member company Fenno Water Oy (wastewater treatment) and SETCleanTech (waste management) presented their success stories and know-how.

The Forum showed local cluster interest in development and cooperation with foreign partners. For example, main organizer “Association of the centers for support of small and medium enterprises of the Kaliningrad region” has expressed interest for closer cooperation with the BALTIC CLEANTECH ALLIANCE.
