Business visit to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to promote advanced green technologies  was held on 03-07 October 2016

BALTIC CLEANTECH ALLIANCE on 03-07 October held a business visit to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Within the framework of this visit, a business forum to promote innovative environmentally friendly technologies in Kyrgyzstan was held in Bishkek on 04-05 October. In turn, in Kazakhstan a similar business forum was held in Almaty on 06-07 October.

The main objective of both forums was to establish mutually beneficial cooperation between local companies and our partners, as well as to present the modern technologies from Finland and Latvia, using as an example the successful projects that demonstrate environmental benefits.

It should be noted that it was the first time our BALTIC CLEANTECH ALLIANCE delegation was such large. The delegation consisted of 23 representatives from 20 member companies and 7 representatives of the clusters founders of BALTIC CLEANTECH ALLIANCE.

Business Forum to promote advanced green technologies in Kyrgyzstan

The event was attended by over 100 participants, including Economy Minister of the KR Arzybek Kozhoshev and Deputy Minister of Economy of the KR Eldiyar Abakirov, and other representatives of government agencies, representatives of the business community, of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Kyrgyzstan Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (KyrSEFF).

Within the forum, on 4 October seminar “Business Seminar to promote advanced green technologies in Kyrgyzstan”, in turn B2B communication between the participants of the forum was held on 5 October.

During the seminar were shown more than 20 energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies and technologies for efficient use of water resources, which aroused great interest among the guests of the forum. In addition to new technologies at the forum were presented KyrSEFF Programme investment opportunities for supplier companies, which allows to extend the range of implemented energy saving technologies on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Listed below are the main topics of the seminar:

  • Prospects for cooperation and financial capabilities of KyrSEFF program and investment opportunities in Kyrgyzstan.
  • Energy efficiency and sustainable energy.
  • Effective air and flue gas cleaning system with no filters required.
  • Bio-degradable surfactants and their use.
  • Reforestation and soil remediation.
  • Bio-reactors, and examples of their application for various biotechnological processes.
  • Planning of the urban environment and regional development projects.
  • Municipal solid waste sorting solutions.
  • Water supply and sewerage.
  • Modular containerized water treatment plant.
  • Effective technologies and reagents for water treatment, wastewater treatment and sludge treatment.
  • Infiltration technology, HDPE geo-membranes.
  • Solutions for energy efficiency in the municipal and industrial sectors in the field of water management.
  • Valve solutions.

On the second day, during the B2B communication, businesspersons from both sides exchanged contacts and interacted actively to enhance bilateral activities and to explore opportunities for mutual benefits.

Summing up the results of the forum, we can say that now local entrepreneurs has information on the latest technological solutions and the investment mechanism of financing energy saving measures in the residential and business sectors in the framework of sustainable energy financing Programme (KyrSEFF).

We are confident that this meeting will mark the beginning of mutually beneficial cooperation between business circles of Kyrgyzstan, Latvia and Finland.

Business Forum to promote advanced green technologies in Kazakhstan

The event was attended by over 50 participants – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to Kazakhstan Yuri Pogrebnyak and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Kazakhstan Ilkka Raisanen, as well as other representatives of government agencies, educational institutions, representatives of the business community: from the food, agricultural and oil sectors, as well as representatives of industry NGO.

Forum was held in Almaty in the same format as in Bishkek – on the first day a business seminar, and on the second B2B communication was held.

Before the seminar, our delegation visited Kazakhstan International “Oil & Gas” Exhibition (KIOGE 2016).

On the second day, in addition to B2B communication our delegation had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Kazakhstan Market Watch, which was prepared and presented by CLEANTECH LATVIA Representative in Kazakhstan Babur Absamatov.

Notable also was the visit to the enterprise of water supply and sewage utilities of the city (SUE “Holding Almaty Su”), where our delegation got acquainted with the object and have met with the leadership of the company, which has been interested in the technologies we offer and offered cooperation in future projects.


Summing up the results achieved, it should be noted a significant contribution of the host country in the preparation and conduct of the visit. We were pleased and honoured by the interest in the experience of Latvia and Finland, as well as by the willingness to cooperate. This trade mission has opened for us new opportunities to develop our cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
