During the past week’s international exposition EXPO’17, held in Astana, Kazakhstan, our partners from Finland – Green Net Finland & Finnish Water Forum – have conducted two seminars concerning clean technologies and effective energy consumption.
World exposition of such a type has a great significance for both regional Kazakhstan and our partners’ development, because it allows to widen your horizon after by meeting people from various countries and regions. It was a first world exposition experience for many participants, some of whom admitted a certain shortage of time to go through all of the companies and exhibitions.
First event, held on June 13, was opened with a greeting speeches by Finnish ambassador to Kazakhstan Ilkka Räisänen and Director of the ”Green” Economics Department Mrs. Aliya Shalabekova from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Even though it is not the time to evaluate how successful the event was yet, Green Net Finland Managing Director Suvi Häkämies admitted that the companies achieved good results owing to the seminar.
During the seminar, five Finnish companies have shared used in their business know-hows on sludge dewatering, advanced environmental design and energy efficiency for built environment with their colleagues from Kazakhstan. Companies’ representatives achieved a good target audience of around 50 participants. Finnish Water Forum representative, being an event organizer, during her interview has stressed a bilateral interest, – event programme allowed some companies’ representatives establish a contact even before B2B matchmaking session.
Many partners not only emphasized ambassadors’ participation, but also the fact of benefit from EBRD Associate Director Ms Svetlana Radchenko’s speech on investment projects in Kazakstan and collaboration opportunities with Finnish companies and regions, showing energy efficient business development and, subsequently, new opportunities for the entire BALTIC CLEANTECH ALLIANCE and Finnish companies particularly.
Second seminar, held on June 16, was dedicated to the World’s Best Innovative Water Technologies. Finnish Water Forum Vice Managing Director Katri Mehtonen in her interview told about the value of organizer’s experience, which showed a possible program improvement to be implemented this time. Matchmaking session was held in a more informal environment after formally allowing companies to start connecting during the lunchtime. This time the event also gather twice more people due to expanded contact network and higher amount of interested people.
